Liquidation. Alitalia and may close its doors in at most 10 days, according to several articles in the Italian media, quoting sources close to the situation.
Alitalia's administrator, Augusto Fantozzi, is ready to start procedures for the public selling of the assets of the air operator after the consortium CAI withdrew on Thursday the takeover offer for the company amid disagreements with the unions. The financial publication "Il Sole 24 Ore" announced that Fantozzi will be meeting today with the Italian civil aviation authority ENAC, to determine whether Alitalia will be able to keep its operating license. Also today a date will be set for the announcement of the public tender of take over of Alitalia's assets. ENAC announced that the flights of the largest Italian air operator will be terminated within ten days, if there isn't a feasible plan to save the company.
