Tarom passengers will be able to travel directly, starting from the end of 2009, to 800 international destinations, when Tarom will become member of the air alliance SkyTeam. Tarom signed, yesterday, a preadhesion treaty.
Romanians who will want to travel from Berlin to Bacau, will need only one ticket, valid for the routes provided by Tarom, but also for the international routes of the 14 partner companies, among others: Air France, American Airlines, Delta, Korean Airlines, Aeroflot and Alitalia. Also, Tarom passengers will be able to obtain free tickets for the routes provided by the companies that are part of SkyTeam through a fidelity program.
The most devoted Tarom passengers will enter the customers elite and will benefit from priority at boarding and access to the business saloons on the airports where a partner company is present. Romanians that will hold a Tarom-SkyTeam ticket will benefit from the same services as Air France passengers, the "warrant" of the Romanian company in the alliance.
Investments in services
In order to line up it's services with those offered by the other partner airlines, Tarom will make in the following 18 months investments of about 2 million dollars in IT services modernization, reservations, inventory and check-in. The Romanian company will pay SkyTeam, every year, a tax of 200.000 dollars.
