Ioana Lupea: "Romanians have the possibility of annulling, through vote, Adrian Nastase and Miron Mitrea's immunity".
Adrian Nastase and Miron Mitrea's immunity is in the hands of the citizens. Romanians have the power to annul, through vote, the juridical protection of the two and of all ministers and parliamentarians who are suspected for corruption. If they will not vote them at the uninominals from this autumn, they will become simple citizens like every other and will be forced to answer in front of the prosecutors and judges for their deeds. The vote is the only democratic tool available for the citizens for unblocking the justice and the only way to find out if Adrian Nastase or Miron Mitrea are guilty or not. For the penal investigation of ministers and former ministers who are not part of the parliament the filter of the presidential approval - which, until now, haven't stopped judicial procedures. We would make Miron Mitrea a grand service, because the deputies are ready to protect him with their votes, even against his requests - hypocritical or honests, it doesn't matter - addressed to the audience in order to let the justice follow the normal course in a state of right.
The citizens can resolve a situation in which the parliament avoids to assume responsibility: the Deputies Chamber premeditatedly delayed until forever the decision in the cases of the two PSD leaders, staging a lack of quorum. The real reasons for the deputies choice to block the judiciary procedures in the cases of Adrian Nastase and Miron Mitrea have no connection with the quorum or the democracy, but with their interest of power. Parliamentarians want to keep the appearances of a state of right until after the country report, in order to protect their intern and extern image. Daniel Morar's replacement, who's term at the helm if the National Anticorruption Direction expires this summer, could save the parliament from a shameful vote. A new DNA management could reach the conclusion that the activity of the prosecutor Monica Macovei was abusive and politically orientated and the request of starting the penal investigation in the cases of Adrian Nastase and Miron Mitrea is not justified anymore. And, at last, a possible notice for the start of penal investigation depends by the intern reports from PSD and by the negotiations between parties for the future administration. For some PSD leaders, Adrian Nastase's demands to the presidency candidateship couldn't please them, the immunity of the two PSD leades having an exchange value in transactioning the future governmental alliance.
The justice is prevented to make justice by a group of politicians for whom the state of right is worths infinitely less than the power calculations and keeping the privileges. The votes of the citizens against Adrian Nastase, Miron Mitrea and all statesmen suspected for corruption would hit it hard. We have the power to send them to justice, against the obvious resistance of the parliament, to open once and forver the corruption file.
