The highway section could be finished at the end of 2009.
Italians from JV Pizzarotti&Tirena Scavi started yesterday the construction of the Bucharest-Moara Vlasiei section, which is part of the Bucharest-Brasov highway. The National Company of Highways and National Roads (CNADNR) will pay for the construction of 19 kilometers around 152 millions euro (514.6 millions lei), for the 18 moths of works.
Sources inside CNADNR said that, because only 17% of the necessary expropriations were made, the term for the finalization of the constructions is highly optimistic.
Delays of more than 6 months were recorded on the Moara Vlasiei-Ploiesti section, which should be finished in 2009. Romanian companies PA&CO International, UMB Spedition, Euroconstruct Trading ’98 and Comaxa started the constructions in the spring of 2007, but they have received from CNADNR only 8 millions lei, from the 702 millions that are necessary to the project. Expansion to six lanes
The Bucharest-Moara Vlasiei project will have an enlargement to 6 lanes for seven kilometers, and in the following months, the government could approve a six lanes highway until its 45 kilometer.
Last week, the executive approved the supplementation of expropriation funds with around 30 millions euro, the majority will go to Voluntari, where Gigi Becali, owner of the football team Steaua, and Fahti Taher have properties.
In the following period, CNADNR sustains that it will start other constructions as well. In July it will organize three auctions for the selection of the constructor that will enlarge to four lanes the south section of the Capital's road belt.
