The National Prognosis Commisson (CNP) predicts a lower than anticipated exchange rate for the next years. The prognosis for the end of 2008 shows a medium exchange rate of 3.45 lei for one euro, with 0.2 bani more than anticipated four months ago.
The prognosis was changed because of the national currency depreciation in the last trimester of 2007, a hard to anticipate negative move, says the CNP president, Ion Ghizdeanu. The prediction states that "the inflation and the exchange rate will follow a positive course in the second part of the year".
The expectations for the national currency appreciation are less optimistic than expected by CNP in 2007.
The medium wage will surpass 1.800 lei in 2013
According to the CNP specialists predictions, the medium net wage will reach, in the course of this year, 1.181 lei, in 2009 will exceed 1.300 lei and in 2013 will touch the 1.819 lei level, . The inflation rates for the next years are higher than predicted in November 2007.
