The former leader of the PSD organization from Cluj county thinks he is playing well the part of commissar Moldovan: an honest and phlegmatic PSD member, who shoots from all positions in the bandits from his own party. Mitrea, the one who riddled Dancu, would be, probably, the famous "dom' Semaca". But life is a little bit more grey than Sergiu Nicolaescu's black and white movies. Dancu was for four years a kind of minister of the government Nastase propaganda. At that time, PSD led an elaborated policy of media enslavement, by briebing or by punishing means. Dancu's colleague and friend, Ioan Rus, was a former minister of the interiors in the period of the most corrupt regime from post-December's Romania.
What gives the two the status of reformers of the Social Democrat Party? The fact that, after 2004, they had the courage to raise their voice against Ion Iliescu is, in my opinion, too little. From a strictly theoretical perspective, a reformist would be Victor Hrebenciuc, because he declared himself a supporter of the universal tax rate. Dancu, Rus or Puscas were, in fact, just a group of deviationists, involved in the fight for power. They have lost, and the winners are preparing, in the good faith of the Stalinist parties, to liquidate the defeated. Nothing new under the sun. The difference from the 50's is that now the dissidents are not being shot, but stranded and, eventually, eliminated from the parliamentary lists. If they are such good politicians as they claim, those from the Cluj group can profit from the uninominal vote and candidate as independents. The reality is that PSD is nnot a reformable party. The electorate of this party doesn't need people from the philosophy university, but Neanderthals like Mitrea, ILiescu or Cozmanca, activists who know how to speak to the worker from the collar. Who in Romania wold vote a modern left formation, ecologist, tolerant with sexual minorities and pro-decentralization? Ion Iliescu's party addresses those who don't stand homosexuals, have an irrational respect towards the church and army, don't want the Hungarians to benefit from autonomy and don't care about the global warming.
PSD, as it feels that the moment when they will come back to power, returns to the people from 2001-2004. Even though political commentators - including the undersigned - predicted it's end, the party survived, almost won the local elections and is on a growing trend. Now, those who were offended and blamed in the media, or the DNA are looking for revenge. At first they will liquidate the inside deviationists, those who hesitated and were on their way to make an agreement with the enemy Basescu. After 2009, when PSD will govern the country along with PNL, the other class enemies will follow: DNA prosecutors, clerks and businessmen close to PDL. And even without Dancu's help, I am convinced that Adrian Nastase will find at the right time, a solution for the media.
