Logan, popular for Western Europeans

The high price of oil determined West Europeans to pass to cheap cars, with low consumption.

Dacia cars had the largest advance in sales on the Western European market in the first half of this year, according to data from European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA). Drivers from the western countries gave up large cars, like those produced by the US constructors.

More, sales of new auto vehicles have decreased with 7.9% in June compared to the similar period of 2007, on the background of the expenses of fuels. Dacia sold 45.253 cars in the Western countries, compared to the 90.657 at the EU level, and the officials of the local company are estimating that the sales will grow once the launch of Sandero type.

"The growing inflation and the expenses recorded in the case of oil were the main factors which have influenced the registrations of new cars", it is shown in the ACEA communicate. In Romania though, the registrations of new cars have increased with 4.5%, even before the validation of the new car tax. Registrations of new cars in the Eastern countries of the Eu increased in the first semester, in average, with 6.9%, compared to a decline of 2.1% at the communitarian level, and Romania and Poland remained the largest markets from the region, it is shown in the ACEA study.
