If in 2006 the volume of transactions for the entire Romanian market was 10 million euros, for 2007, we are expecting transactions worth 30 million euros.
The estimation is made according to the tendency of increase in the first trimester. Only ePayment, which holds 80% of the on-line segment, recorded transactions worth 5 million euros in the first trimester.
In Romania at this moment there are about 1500 virtual stores and almost 800 of them accept payment by card; an exponential increase is expected this year.
Once with the market, online stores and buyers increase, we are expecting an increase in the number of online frauds, the danger being more serious for those who do not know the hidden dangers of the e-commerce.
The Gecad specialists recommend to those who buy online not to communicate their card data outside a transaction in a known store, with a known processor. Moreover, the security elements must be checked in the payment page, like logos and the presence of a lock on the page surface or in the lower right side of the page.
