A person earning EUR500 monthly can get a rate of EUR225 compared to the present EUR150.
As of Monday, Alpha Bank will start granting “financially relaxed credits” : larger loans for clients having incomes much over the national average. People with EUR1,500 incomes can have double rates.
However, not for all clients the new crediting conditions are more advantageous. People with incomes lower than the national average will no longer be able to get larger credits.
The reason is that banks must substitute the day to day living expenses from monthly expenses like bills and such.
For this reason, a family of two will get a loan lower than that of an individual with the same income. Alpha Bank considers the monthly living costs are equal to 295 lei.
