Victor Roncea claims he was asked to resign from "Ziua" newspaper for publishing pro-Basescu editorials.
Victor Roncea, head of the foreign policy department within “Ziua” daily said that manager Sorin Rosca Stanescu told him about a secret deal on the media market between the Press Oligarchs Cartel with the purpose of eliminating the supporters of President Traian Basescu.
Roncea made the statements after Sorin Rosca Stanescuallegedly asked for his resignation for a pro-Basescu column. Another journalist, Catalin Avramescu, columnist for la „Cotidianul”, accuses the paper’s management of interrupting the collaboration with him on political grounds.
“I was asked to present my resignation on Friday (last week e.n.) and was told that I could find eomplyment at a different paper within the SOV media trust where the “play” as supporters of Prresidnet Basescu, respectively „Cotidianul”, said Rioncea in a letter addressed to journalists.
