The renowned Romanian painter is in Intensive Care at “Sf. Maria” hospital. He suffers from a generalized lung cancer, with multiple metastases, of which one has affected his bones.
“The painters condition is extremely severe. He is now paralyzed from the waist below. He is starting to lose control over his superior members and he can no longer sign a paper or paint.
Before being put to intensive care, the artist weighed just over 50 kilograms and now he has far less than that” said his two sons, Matei and Tudor Balasa.
They decided to reveal the tragedy that surrounded Balasa in the past years. According to them, Melania Iordachescu, the painters ex-wife, has kept the disease secret since 2006 and fed their father with pain killers.
The main reason for which there are disputes between Balasa’s relatives is his fortune, which is considered to be fabulous.
