Solution. The German group RWE, Europe's fourth largest utilities company, could sell its natural gas network, to end an anti-trust investigation that was launched by the European Commission (EC), said sources close to the situation, quoted by Reuters.
The sale of the network is one of the solutions that could solve the case in which the EC is accusing RWE of illegal elimination of the competition from the market, by using its control over the natural gas network, said the sources. RWE and the EC confirmed that they are discussing the means of closing the investigation, but didn't offered details. "The European Commission can confirm that it is talking with RWE about possible measures for solving the problems that led to the opening of the investigation", said the spoke person for EU's competition office, Jonathan Todd.
