Death of 32 Year Old Manager From Overwork Sparks Debates

The death of Ralucai Stroescu, the 32 year old audit manager with Ernst&Young shocked the public opinion and launched a bitter debate.

Hundreds of messages posted on the EVZ forum accuse employees of overworking employees. The debates went further : is it normal to give up your personal life and a normal living just to have more money and a better career. Is there a middle way?

Raluca Stroescu died most probably  after working herself to death. Coroners can only say that she died to cardiac arrest.

“Results of toxicological and histological  examination  will most probably come in one month, DNA tests are not yet ready”, said coroner Alexandru Gheorghe.

His professional opinion  is that she was malnourished (she weighted less than 40 kilos) and she mostly lived on water.

“She either stopped eating or her body could not process the nutrients”, Gheorghe also said.

The coroners discovered after preliminary tests that she had hormonal imbalances and a heart condition : mio-cardiac fibrosis.

“Evenimentul Zilei” launches a debate evz.ro on the attitude towards work .How much are you willing to give for a better life  ? What is more important: career or family? We await your opinions on  www.evz.ro.
