The “Road of Bones”, repaired in documents

The 676 E county road seems to have been fixed several times, although the reality explains why people call it the “Road of Bones”. The road is severely affected by land slides in two places and the asphalt is a rare sight during its 20km length.

If the rule would not look as if it was bombed, it would shorten the distance between Berbeşi and Râmnicul Vâlcea by twenty kilometers.

The county council of Vâlcea Roads Department has reported a “4km of maintenance work including asphalt” of DJ 676 E road, in the small town of Berbeşti Popeşti.

The official paperwork that states the completion of maintenance work of the road is even registered at Berbeşti Popeşti City Hall. “My Secretary has signed those papers because I was not in town at the time”, says Mayor Aurel Ştefan. “ I’ve send many complaints in the county council of Valcea and when I go to the president of the council he tells me that there are no money and that they should give up.

If the paperwork shows that the road has been repaired no one will ever give me more money have it fixed”, the mayor say.

Meantime, the president of the county council Valcea, Dumitru Buse, protest is that by the summer there will be money for the maintenance works, that are worth about 10 million lei.
