PNL President, PM Calin Popescu-Tariceanu said that the Liberals do not intend to recruit members from the Democratic Party or PD.
He said that Liberals want to have a “straight relation” with the Democrats. “I never discussed this issue but I read certain statements within the press. We do not intend to recruit from PD. We want to maintain a correct position towards PD so PNL will not follow any recruit policy towards PD”, Tariceanu said.
Tariceanu commented the case of democrat Vasile Bran, deputy-president of Romania’s environment watchdog or ANPM. After PD was excluded from the Government, he announced he would not resign but rather enlist within PNL .
Tariceanu however, said that there are certain bodies within PNL that are responsible with such decisions.
