Mircea Marian: "Do you know how many social assisted were in Romania in 2004, at the end of the PSD regime?"
Around four millions. And how many are now, after four years of liberal governing, of the right? Almost 11 millions. The data were offered by the labor minister, Paul Pacuraru, during the consultation from Cotroceni on the theme of the increase of prices for energy and aliments. Even the PSD members were astonished by these hallucinating figures. Pacuraru explained, behind closed doors, that the number of the assisted grew immensely because of the introduction in this category of five million children who are benefiting from the so-called universal allocation.
This financial support - 40 lei per month - is granted to the daughter of the Columbeanu family also, and to the boy of Prime Minister Tariceanu, but also to the childes of some poor people from Sintesti. In fact, what it's shown from the data presented by minister Pacuraru is that the gravity of the electoral bribe given by the PNL government reached unimaginable levels. Even though we would rule out the five million children, we would still have two millions assisted people more than in 2004. On the verge of the electoral campaign, besides the lies of the minister Varujan Vosganian who swears that the government will lead a cautious budgetary policy, the charities are flowing.
The fact that the executive doesn't points the aids towards those who are in need of the state's support, but gives theses gifts without differences, including to some prosperous families, who don't need Tariceanu's pity, is disastrous. Last week, the liberal government decided to grant desktops for 435.000 pupils from the IX and X grade. We are passing over the fact that until this autumns an auction is impossible, so the money will be discretely channeled towards the PNL sponsors. But what about the pupils who already have a computer? What will happen to those who will ask their parents for a performing device, not the "grinder" that the government buys for 400 euro? As useless as the expansion of the "Croissant and milk" program to the V-VIII grades.
How many pupils from relatively prosperous cities, like Bucharest or Cluj, await to be stuffed with a croissant and a glass of milk, which is worth the ridiculous sum of 1.04 lei? Tons of milk will be thrown in the dumpster, the government's cheap computers will be stored in the cabinets and millions of euro will be wasted, instead of reaching to those who would really need the money.
For example, I don't think that the budget of the Columbeanu family would have been damaged if the universal allocation would be reduced with ten lei. Even though millions would be saved for the poor. Apparently, it doesn't seem too complicated to manage a little bit better the budget for social protection. The liberal government just throws away money to the flock of eleemosynary who wait that, from the ruling balcony, something to be dropped. This is the lucky ticket that brings you 20% of the electors votes.
