Greece, A Threat For Romanian Tour Operators

Greece, A Threat For Romanian Tour Operators

Because Greece and Turkey became  “furnaces” in July and August, Romanians may extend their summer season by October.

The heat already hit Greece this weekend  registering over 30 degrees Celsius in the South and more than 35 in Greece’s capital, Athens, because of a heat wave that came from northern Africa.

The event may have passed unnoticed  if  Greece would not be the preferred summer holiday destination fro many Romanians. The unusual heat wave forecasted for July and August in Greece may ruin tour operators’ plans this year.

The Mediterranean region is also home to Spain, Turkey , Egypt, Tunisia etc., destinations that are together with Greece, 65% of Romanians summer holiday destinations abroad.

Many tourists suffered because of extreme heat last summer. Hundereds of Romanians who went to Halkidiki  were surprised by the fires cause by extreme heat.
