Leondard Doroftei, former WBA champion is not impressed with Lucian Bute’s career, who is now considered the new boxing symbol in Romania.
Lucian Bute proved himself during the match on Saturday morning, at Montreal, where he defended his title as IBF world champion, after defeating american veteran William Joppy, in the tenth round, through technical knockout.
Meantime, the former WBA champion Leonard Doroftei launched a schocking statement.
„I didn’t watch the game. I slept and I didn’t miss anything because I knew what was going to happen. Bute’s adversary couldn’t have put too much of a fight. When I used to fight I picked up champions. I had three world championship title fights! Those are real fights. It can’t be a stressful situation when you deffend your title and get to choose yout adversary, while the fights are organized by your company”, said Doroftei, green with envy.
Close friends of Doroftei say that he had a certain conflict with Lucian Bute some time ago. Bute is the third world chamipion in the boxing world, after Mihai Leu and Leonard Doroftei.
Romania’s „Mister KO” also won 700.000 dollars and the respect of boxing specialists all over the world, who forsee a great career for him. 18 out of the 22 victories in his track record are KO and now has a pretty good chance to gain the four most important titles IBF, WBC, WBA şi WBO.
After successfully defending his title for the first time, Bute will most probably fight in May, with a player which he will choose and in October, he will have to fight any challenger for the title.
