The privatization of Avioane Craiova has failed

CONDITIONS. AVAS will resume under emergency the privatization process of Avioane Craiova, because the negotiations with the Czech firm Aero Vodochody have failed.

According to the institution, the Bank has imposed conditions which violate any rule governing a democratic country and a free market economy, which could not be accepted. Thus, the Czech company has requested that between the date of signing the contract and the transfer of ownership, the Romanian government to ensure that Avioane Craiova will not go into bankruptcy. Also, Aero Vodochody has ordered a restructuring program, with collective layoffs of personnel, claims AVAS. Moreover, the Czechs had requested compensation for what they will find in the company, of up to 50% of the price offered.
