"The Revenant", cu Leonardo DiCaprio si regizat de Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu a primit cele mai multe nominalizari la Premiile Oscar in acest an, dupa ce a intrat in cursa la 12 categorii, inclusiv pentru cel mai bun film, cel mai bun regizor, cel mai bun actor.
Leonardo DiCaprio este favorit si la casele de pariuri. Potrivit cotelor publicate cu doar cateva ore inainte de gala Oscarurilor, unul din trei americani crede ca trofeul ii va reveni lui DiCaprio. "The Revenant" il aduce in rolul principal pe Leonardo DiCaprio, in rolul exploratorului Hugh Glass, din secolul XIX. Filmul, inspirat din fapte reale, prezinta povestea lui Hugh Glass, intruchipat de Leonardo DiCaprio.
Povestea filmului "Bridge Of Spies" il are in centru pe James Donovan, un avocat care ajunge sa fie implicat in itele Razboiului Rece dupa ce accepta sa reprezinte in instanta un spion sovietic ce a fost capturat la New York.
"Spotlight" cu Mark Ruffalo si Michael Keaton, urmareste jurnalistii de la Boston Globe care au dezvaluit totul intr-o serie de articole distinse cu premiul Pulitzer. In total, au fost 1.500 de victime, iar scandalul a dus la dezvaluiri similare in toata lumea.
Pe locul doi, cu un numar mare de nominalizări, "Mad Max: Fury Road" - 10 nominalizari, inclusiv pentru "cel mai bun film", urmat de "The Martian" cu 7 nominalizari.
