Romanian Professor Dies Trying To Protect Students In Virginia Slaughter

Liviu Librescu, professor of aeronautics at the Virginia Technical University, died after trying protect his students from the gunner who was responsible for the Virginia slaughter.

The tragedy which happened yesterday had a death toll of 33 death including the shooter and 29 injured.

The criminal that opened fire at the university’s campus may be a Chinese, however, police did not confirm that yet because the gunner did not carry any kind of identification.

According to Star Tribune, the Romanian professor tried to block the door so the attacker could not get in but he was shot and died.

Librescu was the founder the modern theory of shells incorporating non-classical effects and composed of advanced composite materials; he also founded the theory and applications of sandwich type structures.

 Adrian Salzberger, representative of the Romanian community in Israel said that  he is considered a hero because he died on the day of the commemoration of the Holocaust.
