The liberals want to reduce the number of votes necessary for a party to enter the parliament.
Dan Motreanu, Secretary General of PNL, proposed yesterday in the name of the party, the lowering of the election threshold from 5% to 2%, in the conditions of passing to the uninominal vote.
Motreanu admitted that lowering the threshold would help parties with which PNL has tight relations at present, PNL and Actiunea Populara.
PSD does not agree to the lowering of the threshold. “It is not a good idea and we do not agree to it. We already have problems with the parliamentary majority. An election threshold of 2% would set us back to 1990, and this is not good.” said Mircea Geoana, PSD president.
