Mircea Marian: "Every time the Parliament of Romania takes another aberrant decision, I wonder: isn't there a way to be kicked out of the European Union?"
Because I do not think that any civilized country in which the Parliament to be transformed in a sanctuary for bribers and corrupted. Nearly all major decisions taken in the last months by the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies have a single purpose: to disarm the anti-corruption prosecutors and provide protection for the Romanian officials who have enriched overnight.
Look just at one of the dossiers of Adrian Nastase: according to DNA, the man brought from China goods worth hundreds of thousands of U.S. dollars - including Christmas trees, wiggs and apparatus to cut eggs - but the shopping money mostly came from the employees of government structures. Even appliances for cleaning cloths have been purchased by the former premier from this Asian country. In another file, Adrian Nastase is suspected that he would have arranged that the documents through which his wife was investigated for laundering money to disappear. The amount deposited by Dana Nastase at a bank was 400,000 dollars, money with which Alexandru Bittner would have bought from the famous aunt Tamara, paintings, English manuscript on parchment or gold jewelry. Those from DNA have not accepted that an old lady of 91 years who lived alone, had such values in her flat.
The PSD, PRM, UDMR and PC deputies from the Legal Committee - teachers, engineers, a former journalist from Scânteia and some business lawyers - have been transformed into judges and decided that these cases contain evidences "hit by invalidity". One of them, an engineer from Caracal, placed by Adrian Nastase in the structure of the General Association of Hunters and Fishermen, said solemnly: "DNA doesn't have any evidence." After this brief trial, Nastase has made his appearance together with his head on the line of the party, Mircea Geoană and, together, gave lessons on how the future constitution should look. Among their proposals, of course, one through which the powers the President of Romania would be drastically limited.
What lacks those from the European Commission, at the next report, to decide the application of safeguard clause? In the few months in which he slept on the seat of Minister of Justice, Catalin Predoiu, was activated only once: when he proposed the change of the DNA head, Daniel Morar, with a sex doll. By ignoring the Commission's recommendations, the Senate wants to change the procedures for appointing the chief prosecutors. The National Integrity Agency is stuck in procedures for the selection of personnel and equipment with archiving techincs. After several spectacular announcements, made just before the last assessment from Brussels, ANI entered into lethargy. Nastase and Mitrea can't be investigated because they are protected by the "322" from the Chamber of Deputies.
Even those from Brussels could understand what the citizens of Romania have understood a long time ago: in this country there is no justice for the corrupt statesmen.
