MINIMUM. The Bucharest Stock Exchange was correlated with the harsh fall of the great European markets and the general index, BET-C, ended the day with 3.67% down to the level of Friday, reaching the minimum of the last three years.
A lower level of the BET-C index was recorded only at the end of the meeting of 14 September 2005. Since the opening of the meeting, the investors have placed more orders for sale at prices below those of Friday, and the minimum point of the BET-C was at 14.00, when the average market was with 4.36% lower to the reference . At the time of the closing of the exchange meeting in Bucharest, the index of big European markets were down by 5.5%, in the case of the Vienna Stock Exchange, following the bankruptcy of U.S. investment bank Lehman Brothers, but also by the decision to take over Merrill Lynch.
