The funeral, like a revival

The funeral ceremony will be a special one for the hierarchs and the monarchs: the revival’s hymns will be sung and the casket will stop three times in front of the isle, like in the Holy Friday.

The Teoctist’s funeral will resemble a revival ceremony, and it will be a special one, because the patriarch was a monk for 13 years. The government has decided that tomorrow be declared national day of mourning.

Pope Benedict the 16th has presented his homage yesterday to the patriarch’s ecumenical commitment, in a condolence message addressed to the Romanian Orthodox Church.

Until yesterday night, there have been many confirmations of  high prelates attendances, like the ecumenical patriarch Bartolomeu I, the archbishop of Tirana Anastasie, the patriarch of Georgia Ilia the 2nd.
