The only way for President Traian Basescu can dismissed it would take 50%+ one votes of the electorate against him.
Basescu’s dismissal is highly difficult to accomplish considering the current laws on dismissal through referendum.
According to the current law, the chief of state will be dismissed only if, on May 20, most of the electorate says yes to the question “Do you agree with President Basescu’s dismissal ?”
In 2004, there were some 17,986,039 voters, so the anti-Basescu Coalition would have to mobilize some 9 million Romanians willing to validate the vote given by eth Parliament on dismissing President Traian Basescu .
For a record voting presence of 12 million voters for example, 75% should vote against the President, which is highly improbable as opinion polls show Basescu’s popularity on the rise .
If the voting is not against him , the President takes back all his prerogatives lost during the period of suspension.
