EVZ EDITORIAL: The system's protected

Ioana Lupea: "With Monica Şerbănescu at the buttons, the National Department of Anti-Corruption will be converted into a washing machine for the statesmen suspected of corruption".

If the indicted Adrian Nastase would have the right to choose the prosecutor to investigate him, this would be Monica Şerbănescu, the proposal of Catalin Predoiu for the leadership of DNA. Instead of keeping Daniel Morar to protect the justice, as the European Commission suggested, the Minister of Justice has chosen, pragmatic, for the ovations of the hostile politicians of the DNA investigations. Catalin Predoiu has fulfilled the task for which he was appointed by the liberals. The decision on the person who will lead the anti-corruption fight belongs to Traian Băsescu. Will the head of state expose himself again to the allegations of political police by out ruling the outraging proposal of Catalin Predoiu? Or he will agree with the appointment of a straw man, the nice right hand of all the "formers" changed by Monica Macovei?

Monica Şerbănescu is the small man of the system. She went through all its forms of education: the Diplomatic Institute, National Defense College, College of superior national security. He signed books together with the SRI General Dumitru Zamfir and the former dean of the Faculty of Information, part of the National Academy of Information, Cristian Troncotă. Legal sources claim that as a former adviser of the general prosecutor Ilie Botoş, held the correspondence of the Office with the Presidency of Romania during the hostages crisis. In fact, according to the official biography, she seems more appropriate for a SRI mission than a function in court, where she has not exceeded the condition of "adviser". She started her career in the sad memory PNA of Ion Amarie, as head of the Legal Division. She continued at the Prosecutor's Office of Ilie Botoş as adviser. Sacked by Codruţa Kovesi in 2006, she was recovered by Catalin Predoiu on 1 July 2008.

Minister Catalin Predoiu had practically a whole month available to assess the professional competence of its fresh adviser who has a patent of sports parachutist. Most likely, she was warmly recommended as a solution to the leadership DNA. Monica Şerbănescu is known among prosecutors as the pupil of the ex-Deputy General Prosecutor Marcel Sânpetru, whose resignation was requested by Monica Macovei for improper exercise of managerial duties. In the account of Marcel Sânpetru, the press put the burial of the "Banca Agricola" dossier, in which was investigated Sorin Ovidiu Vîntu, and the protection some indicated businessmen in the cases RAFO and "SRI Mafia." After the forced departure from the General Prosecutor Office, Sânpetru was recovered by PNL: Bogdan Olteanu made him his personal adviser, and Cristian David the deputy of UM 0962, the secret service of the ministry which he is leading.

On the connection PNL-PSD, probably ended up Monica Şerbănescu in the envelope of Catalin Predoiu. With Monica Şerbănescu at the buttons, the National Department of Anti-Corruption will be converted into a washing machine for the statesmen suspected of corruption. It wouldn't be surprising for all the parliamentarians with records to announce that they will be voluntarily available at the disposal of DNA, if Traian Băsescu will agree with the replacement of Daniel Morar with the protected of the system.
