Constitution Court: President Can Be Dismissed With A Majority Of Votes

Constitution Court established yesterday that Romania’s President can be dismissed with a majority of votes.

Basescu and his political adversaries must mobilize  their electorate. The anti-presidential Coalition managed at its third attempt, to modify the referendum law , so that the Constitution Court decided that the President can be dismissed by half plus one of the votes.

Judges of the Constitution court decided to rule out the stipulation saying that the referendum is only valid if half plus one of the people on electoral lists take part(some 9 million people).

The new stipulation practically means that if 6 out of ten people vote against, the chief  of the Romanian state is dismissed.
