Communications Minister Allegedly Bribed By Bulgarian Businessman

Telecommunications minister Zsolt Nagy allegedly gave away confidential information  to Bulgarian businessman  Stamen Stantchev in exchange for certain favors.

Zsolt Nagy was called  in court yesterday by anti-corruption prosecutors in the file called “Betrayed privatizations”. The officials communicated Nagy the charges brought against him, that included spending  a holiday on  the Bulgarian seaside with  money provided by  Bulgarian spy  Stamen Stantchev,as part of a bribe.

Nagy showed up in court with his lawyer, but the  meeting only lasted a few minutes.

Practically, the minister signed a minute acknowledging he is aware of the accusations brought against him: association and supporting an organized  crime  group  with trans-border character.

At the end of the meeting Nagy said he is innocent. He also pointed out that unlike others, he does not trust the state’s institutions.

The minister showed he is not afraid of  dismissal , especially since the report from a Presidential Committee found no clues to his committing  a crime.
