Caja Madrid wants a bank in Romania

Plans. Caja Madrid, Spain's second largest bank listed at the stock exchange and the larger shareholder of Iberia airline, is interested in aquisitions on the Eastern European banking sector, especially in Romania and Poland, said, yesterday, the bank's president, Miguel Blesa, quoted by Reuters.

The financial instiution already made a deal to takeover 83% of the City National Bank of Floridafor shares, for 927 million dollars, and is willing to pay a similar price for the aquisition of an Eastern European bank, according to Blesa.
