Basescu and Tariceanu argue even on the drought

The extreme drought forecast for Romania in the next months is becoming a national safety problem.

The topic will be debated today in the Superior Council for Country Defense. While the president says that in September we will have severe drought on two thirds of the territory, the premier says that it is not the question of a crisis situation.

The analysis with a probability of over 60% made for the National Meteorology Administration by the British experts confirms the warning from Cotroceni.

In a letter addressed to Calin Posescu Tariceanu yesterday, Traian Basescu drawn attention over the lack of involvement from the government and asked the prime minister to present a report today regarding the drought effects, the measures taken and a plan for the next period.
