A protest against American Justice, during the NATO Summit

The family of a Romanian singer that was killed by an American marine in 2004 is considering a public protest during the NATO Summit, that will take place in Bucharest, in the 2nd – 4th of April interval.

Teo Peter jr. wishes to catch President Bush’s attention regarding the events that followed his father’s death. For over three years now, the singer’s family is waiting for the promised justice from the Washington officials.

„It’s been two years since the abject decision that the American Military Court has taken. I don’t think anyone should think we can be treated as fools. Unfortunately, Van Goethem cannot be brought into trial anymore and all that I received from the American authorities was indifference”, Teo Peter jr. said.

The US Marine Infantry brought charges against Van Goethem, who was later found innocent by an American Court, because there were insufficient proofs that Teo Peter was actually in that taxi.

Teo Peter was killed on December 4th, 2004 in Bucharest when his taxi was hit by the car of U.S. marine staff Robert Christopher Van Goethem, who was serving as a bodyguard in the city's U.S. embassy.
