Dacia officials are analyzing the possibility of installing automatic gearboxes on Logan types, in case the market will require it.
"In Romania, it's no demand for such thing. Not one customer asked for it. If we would have clients, we would certainly offer the automatic gearbox", said the marketing director of the car producer, Rafael Treguer, quoted by Mediafax. He added that, in the countries where Dacia is sold best, like France and Italy, the demand for cars equipped with automatic gearbox is 5% from the deliveries, like in Romania.
"The Latins like to have control, to feel the car", said Treguer. A proof of the fact that Dacia had already thought of using automatic gearboxes is the fact that, in the instructions manual of the restyled Logan, are five pages which refer to the use of this kind of gearbox. The informations are near some photographs with the car's gear shifter and images with the dash pointers which are showing specific informations to this type of gearbox, like gear steps and winter rolling.
