The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) registered yesterday one of the lowest liquidity rate of this year, of only 15.2 millions lei, caused by the adjournment of BRD, Petrom and Banca Transilvania transfers for the shareholders meeting.
Lacking these shares, the investors placed few orders, reduced as ammount and value. The market's liquidity was half of Monday's value, when the transactions totalized 32.7 millions lei. In this background, the index for the market's general evolution, BET-C, dropped yesterday with 0.41%. A lower transaction rate was registered in the session from 11 of March, when the trades totalised 14.2 millions lei.
From the most liquid ten companies in the Bet index, only the shares of four emiters were traded, Rompetrol Rafinare, Transelectrica, Biofarm şi SSIF Broker. BET registered yesterday a decrease of 0.77%. The societies of financial investments (SIF) had a negative evolution also. The BET-FI index, that includes them, registered at the session closing a drop of 2.13%
The trade session will be prolongued
The BVB Board of Administration decided that the prolongation of the daily program of transactions with be of two hours. So, the trade session will not close at 14.15, but at 16.30, and the measure will be valid from June, said Stere farmache, general director of BVB. The decison follows the raise of liquidities at the Stock Exchange and a better synchronization with the international markets, that have a longer trading program.
